It's Hunting Time!

No no no, not that kind of hunt! It's time that I take the plunge and get those Hunters.

Uggs just don't do it in the snow, they fall apart! They're warm, but I'm tired of having them re-covered every other year. What's the solution? No, not those super duper awesome and warm Columbia or NorthFace boots - I'm sorry I just...can't...

Hunters with the fuzzy sock inserts not only keep feet warm and dry, they also create a longer flattering line on the leg, a one up on the Columbia/NorthFace boots any day.

So...what color?

I'm leaning toward the last pair in blue. Thoughts?

Happy winterizing!

Oh The Weather Outside Is Frightful!

I'm back, and it feels good :)

First of all, before I get back into the swing of things, I want to take a hot minute and thank you all for your kind words and support while I was away. Words can't express how thankful I am to be a part of such an incredible blogging community full of genuine and kind people!

Now let's jump right in, shall we!?

It's cold in Chicago! Holy moly! I had my first moment today where my breath was taken away with the chilly wind, brr!

This moment always hits me too soon every year, so what's a girl to do? Bundle up of course!

Although I'm not a big fan of puffy coats, and neither is TBF, I think this looks so warm and cozy!

So chic. Need I say more?

A little military, anyone?

I love this coat, in every.single.color.

Stay warm! :)

We Interrupt This Living Room Revamp Project...

...with this future investment.

I'm a cardigan girl all the way. So when I saw the latest cozy, Fall version arrive in my inbox the other day and then pictured it with my boots and skinny jeans, I knew I had to have it.

Nordies is trying to get on board, too.

Too bad the Crew wins this round.

Apologies about the interruption, and now back to our Living Room Revamp Project tomorrow...

Happy Thursday! We're almost there!

*MAC in Lillyland Spring Line Pre-Launch Event in Chicago*

So this sister needs a dress.

I was chatting with the MAC gal behind the counter at Nordies last week and after awhile, she asked me if I was going to the MAC event in early February. I told her I didn't know what she was talking about and then she proceeded to tell me about this event that I am bouncing off the walls excited about.

The event is a spring line pre-launch (Living in Lillyland) for MAC cosmetics at Nordstrom on Michigan Ave after hours on a Saturday in February.

Have I mentioned how much I love MAC cosmetics???

I've been told the event will include:
  • professional makeup artists who will be flown in from all over the country
  • models walking around in the spring line makeup
  • all of the makeup counters will be converted into MAC counters
  • cocktails and appetizers
  • and I'm assuming (and really hoping that) Lady Gaga and Cindy Lauper music will be blasting since they've teamed up for the campaign

So what do I need? An awesome cocktail dress and kick ass shoes.

Now let's pretend I have a bottomless budget...

Nordies, $148

Nordies, $148

Little Black Dress? Nordies, $148

Love this shape, Nordies, $Ineedacoupon

I'm starting to see a color theme...$158

...and maybe some cute shoes...

Steve, $99 The Classic Peep Toe, $175 Dolce Vita, $139

I like to keep my pumps pretty classic.

So excited!

By the way, TBF made a copy of my keys for me, so for now, I'm all set!

Happy Tuesday :)

Lady Gaga Upset :: NYE Little Black Dress

Did you
hear? Lady Gaga ticket holders in Chicago (aka FRECK) had their tickets canceled because of a venue change. Meaning we have to reorder them. Simple right?

Not so much, what if I don't get tickets? What if I don't get as awesome of seats? Grr..

TBF gently shared the news with me last night and I sincerely thought he was joking for a good five minutes until he showed me the email saying the tickets were canceled. I almost cried. The tickets go on sale tonight and you KNOW I'll be all over the nets and phones people.

Anyway, cross your fingers for me. I must have these tickets.

::This just in, Lady Gaga is Chicago's Redeye person of the year..this only makes me more peeved about my potential lack of LG tix::

Onto a happier subject. I may attend a little black dress party on NYE. Meaning I need to review a couple of options...thoughts?

I could do a basic from The Limited, $89.50

This one has some more va-va voom? Nordies, $158

This one's precious, love the shape. Nordies, $138

Shouldn't there be some shine in a NYE dress? J. Crew, $149

...or you can have a simple dress and an amazing shoe from Kate Spade, $375
I'm kind of in love with this shoe.

One more day and I won't be back in the office until next year!!!

Anyone have any fun NYE plans?

Luscious Nordies Dresses + Random Thoughts

Hump day already?! Hooray!

Random thoughts:
  • Love the Nordies dresses below...hello decent prices. Yes, the bottom one is a little pricey, but I think it's so fun, I couldn't resist.
  • I almost cried during Dancing With The Stars last night because I thought Kelly Osbourne was going to be kicked off. No joke. She wasn't even close to being kicked off. I adore her.
  • I looooved the dance to Taylor Swift's Love Story on DWTS last night, too. I don't really love that song, but the dance was amazing. Check it out!

  • I definitely started crying during Biggest Loser when Abby requested to go home (and did). Did anyone see this?! Wow, that woman is inspirational.
  • Uh...hormonal much, Freck?
  • I'm having a serious Target itch but I know better than to go right now because there will be so many crazies there for last minute Halloween decor, candy and costumes. Which means lots of kids. Which means lots of crying and screaming. Which means I'll get annoyed and it will ruin my idea of a perfect Target trip...I digress.
  • I still love the scarves from yesterday's post. Especially the last yellow one.
  • Did I mention that I love these dresses below? ;)

$398

Happy Hump Day!!! Halfway there :)

Brand Whore + Real Simple

So the girl sitting directly in front of me on my way to work this morning was wearing this.

David Yurman ring

this.
Gucci bag
and this.
Beautiful Burberry trench

It was disgusting.

and I loved it.

I'm normally not a brand whore (I really don't care for Gucci), but I friggen love Burberry trenches and David Yurman anything. My Limited/J.Crew/Nordies combo spruced up with some "fun tights" had nothing on this sister's ensemble.

Anywayyyy
Guess who got her new Real Simple?!

I'm already a couple pages in and loving it. For those of you who've picked up your issue, be sure to read the holiday mishaps. They're so funny!! The mishap about how the woman's oven door blowing off is the funniest.

Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about a giveaway. Some of my fave bloggers are having giveaway right now so I'd prefer not to have mine at the same time as them!! Also, mirror diy pics to come!

Have a great Tuesday!

9.30.2009

Yes, I'm finally posting my rehabbed dresser.

YES! Finally! So below is the before picture of TBF's old dresser. Kind of blah, has a decal of one of his favorite bands from college on it.

And here is the after!

Ok, it's not that great of a picture...

I gave it two good coats of black spray paint and painted the knobs a greenish-pearl color with some bumpy texture. I should have taken a closer picture of the knobs..woops!

Onto the close up of the flower arrangement...

The vase is stuffed with wine corks and leaves to keep the arrangement in place and stacked on some of my favorite books. :)

Here's another picture of a smaller arrangement in my dressing room/walk in closet next to my vanity mirror, favorite perfume, Lanvin (I love love love it and it can be found at Nordies), little Terracotta warrior that I got in Xi'an China, favorite article at the moment (something about how to love your job and get ahead) and some Juicy Couture post-its (which was a gift, I'd never purchase JC post-its...).

Enjoy, It's almost Friday!!!

*By the way, thank you all for your nice comments yesterday! I was totally on auto-pilot all day because I couldn't stop thinking about it.

Some of you asked if I filed a police report and if I told the dad that his daughter was wearing her ipod while driving. I didn't file a report because the accident wasn't big enough and I really just wanted to get on the road to work, and I didn't tell the dad about his daughter wearing her ipod because honestly I was so flustered that I forgot, and plus he was so mean that I didn't even want to know what he would have done to his daughter!

Thanks again :) !!*
