Christmas Spirit + Biggest Loser

This Christmas tree was in the middle of the beautiful hotel where my conference was yesterday. I couldn't help but take a picture. Isn't it so pretty?!

Okay, onto the goods. Who saw the Biggest Loser Finale last night?!

Everybody now! "HOLY COW!!!!!"

Not gonna lie, Rudy, you're kind of a stud.

Danny looks amazing, too. I think what I enjoy most about the two guys and Amanda (in pink) is how humble they are. It was so encouraging and they were all so thankful for the opportunity and their transformation.

Did anyone else feel that Rebecca's attitude changed compared to before her transformation and wasn't very humble? She won the at-home BL, which is so awesome and she looks fantastic, but something about her attitude rubbed me the wrong way. Anyone??

Remember everyone, the giveaway ends tomorrow! Make sure to enter if you haven't!!

Alright, back to work. Happy Hump Day!!!

***

Okay, cool, by the looks of your comments, I'm not crazy when I think that Rebecca has changed and it's weird. TBF thinks she's on drugs..could be, she is kind of spazzy and random? Oh well, she looks fab, hopefully she tones the 'tude down a bit...

Also! According to this interview, they are still dating and she's moving in with him.

TV Happies + Snuggle Time!

Kelly O made it to the top three of DWTS!! Hoorayyy! So excited to see how she does during the finale next week.

ALSO, for my Biggest Loser watchers, did you see Rebecca on Leno last night?? She looks amazing!! Did you hear her say that she's dating...

Daniel!!! How awesome and adorable is that?!!

Okay, anyway, my blog is starting to turn into a tv obsessed blog (hello Castle, DWTS, Biggest Loser...) so let's throw some fashion back in here.

It's another disgusting, rainy and CHILLY day in the city, so I really just want to snuggle on up with this...

Luscious Nordies Dresses + Random Thoughts

Hump day already?! Hooray!

Random thoughts:
  • Love the Nordies dresses below...hello decent prices. Yes, the bottom one is a little pricey, but I think it's so fun, I couldn't resist.
  • I almost cried during Dancing With The Stars last night because I thought Kelly Osbourne was going to be kicked off. No joke. She wasn't even close to being kicked off. I adore her.
  • I looooved the dance to Taylor Swift's Love Story on DWTS last night, too. I don't really love that song, but the dance was amazing. Check it out!

  • I definitely started crying during Biggest Loser when Abby requested to go home (and did). Did anyone see this?! Wow, that woman is inspirational.
  • Uh...hormonal much, Freck?
  • I'm having a serious Target itch but I know better than to go right now because there will be so many crazies there for last minute Halloween decor, candy and costumes. Which means lots of kids. Which means lots of crying and screaming. Which means I'll get annoyed and it will ruin my idea of a perfect Target trip...I digress.
  • I still love the scarves from yesterday's post. Especially the last yellow one.
  • Did I mention that I love these dresses below? ;)

Happy Hump Day!!! Halfway there :)

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I just received my MAC cosmetics email, and the new colors are so bright and springy, perfect for this BEAUTIFUL day in Chicago. I can't wait to get out of work and go for a lonnnnngggg walk.

Happy St. Patrick's day! After the long weekend of St. Patty's Day festivities, I can't believe it's NOW officially St. Patrick's Day. Not gonna lie, I feel like it was over Sunday night around 5 pm. The chances of me actually breaking my Lent promise (drinking during the week unless for celebratory purposes) is slim to none. I'm not even wearing GREEN today and it's my favorite color! Do people still pinch you if you don't have green on today?

I read half of this months InStyle, one of the best mags ever, last night before I went to bed (when I should have been studying), and basically I WANT SUMMER PEOPLE. Now, I say this, but I do have mixed feelings. Follow me here: there are officially 6 1/2 more weeks until I graduate. This also means that there are 6 1/2 more weeks until I will (hopefully) have a full time position where I won't be able to enjoy the sunshine, but rather be staring at the rays as they enter into an office building. See my dilemma? That's what I thought.

Biggest Loser is on tonight!! I HAVE to watch it. I haven't seen it the past couple of weeks, this isn't good. I need a serious catch up session. Can't wait :)

Oh, and after watching That Thing You Do on Sunday, I realized again how much I adore Liv Tyler. This gal had an interesting childhood. For example, she didn't realize her DAD was Steve Tyler (lead singer of Aerosmith) until she was nine...
Gorgeous.

Hooray! I've been tagged :)

Thank you Pink Magnolias! She tagged me to play this game!

The rules:

1. Respond and rework - answer the questions on your own blog, then replace your least favorite question with a new one and add a question of your own.

2. Tag 8 other un-tagged bloggers!

Now onto the questions:

Q. Make a list of things you can see without getting up.
Tv, Clock, cell phone, couch, lamp, candles...I'm in my living room so the list could go on and on.

Q. What is your favorite TV show?
I don't really have a favorite, but if I had to pick one right now, it would have to be The Biggest Loser. I LOVE this show, talk about motivation! These people are so inspiring!

Q. Do you nap a lot?
I never quite mastered the napping thing because it usually throws off my sleeping schedule. Plus, I really don't have time..I am pretty busy, but when I do have free time, I'd rather paint or BLOG rather than nap.

Q. Who is the last person you hugged?
TBF this morning :)

Q. What is your current obsession?
Probably blogging! I really enjoy it. It's my little outlet, and I'm learning about myself as well.

Q. What was the last thing you said aloud?
Probably a cuss word. My debit card was cancelled and a new one was ordered because my name came up on a list of victims of fraud.

Q. What websites do you visit when you go online?
Blogspot, my email, Facebook, The Superficial...

Q. What was the last thing you bought?
I split the ingredients with TBF to make dinner last night while we watched the Super Bowl : )

Q. If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
I would LOVE to have the ability to teleport. I live in Chicago so whether I take the L or drive, I MUST leave with plenty of time to spare just in case I'm held up. Sometimes it can be quite frustrating. Plus, I'd love to just appear in another country whenever I want!

Q. What time do you usually get up?
MWF I get up around 7:15am to get to class on time.
TTH I get up around 6 so I'm able to get to work on time to put in a full day so I can do whatever activities I need to do in the evening.

Q. What is your most challenging goal right now?
I'm not sure how to define this goal, but I have a little anxiety about graduating. It's a huge chapter that's going to end in my life, and although I know I'm ready to wear my big girl pants, I'm a little anxious about my future career. I'm taking it day by day though, I'm not letting it hold me down.

Q. Say something to the person who tagged you.
Thank you Pink Magnolias for tagging me!! I look forward to reading more of your posts and continuing our blog-friend relationship!

Q. If you could have a house - fully furnished and anywhere in the world - where would it be?
I'd love to say somewhere in Italy, but I think I'd like to stay somewhere in the States, probably Florida or California. Actually, I don't know. I keep going back and forth on this question, so I'm going to settle with that answer for now :)  Maybe if I have two houses someday, that will solve my indecisiveness.

Q. Favorite vacation spot?
SanDestin, Fl...aka adult Disney World.

Q. What is your favorite item of clothing?
This may sound super ghetto, but I love putting my sweatpants on at the end of the day. I love being comfortable, and don't get me wrong, I love my jeans...but I love relaxing in my sweatpants even more.

Q. Name one thing you can't resist, no matter how bad it is for you.
Smores. I cannot resist smores. They are so delicious and perfect. Not too big, not too small...delicious.

Q. Favorite pair of shoes you keep going back to, over and over?
Do my slippers count as shoes?! I love going back to them!
Okay, so they probably don't count. I don't know of these shoes are my favorite, but in the Chicago winter, I don't have a choice but to go back to my Uggs. I know they're ugly, but they're so friggen warm people! Function over fashion.
Now, my favorite pair of heels? My black Aldo pumps, I love them. I've worn them to a couple weddings and I love wearing them with jeans. Love. Them.

Q. What is your favorite restaurant?
This is a very difficult question. I used to love the restaurant Cesar's, here in Chicago because of their amazing margaritas and I love Mexican food...but lately I feel I'm past that marg phase, and looking more to just enjoy all of the lovely restaurants Chicago has to offer. I love Tango Sur, the restaurant TBF and I had our first date at, The Stained Glass in Evanston, an AMAZING wine bar restaurant and Fornello's, a great italian restaurant near TBF's old apartment.

Q. What is your biggest pet peeve?
When people are late. I think it's so disrespectful when I'm meeting someone for lunch or coffee and they're more than 10 minutes late. TBF is notorious for being late, so I've been working on that little issue : )

Q. What is your favorite store?
I can't name just one. J.Crew, Martin + Osa, Williams-Sonoma, Ikea, Norstrom, White House Black Market...I need to stop...

Q. New Question:
What is your favorite musical or play?
It's a tie between Wicked and Across the Universe. I STILL put both of these Cds on in the car and sing along every time.

Hope you enjoyed getting to know me a little better!!

What's on the tube?

I have a few favorite TV shows that I feel I must share with you. I can tell I'm getting older because I'm not obsessed with shows on MTV anymore, haha. Anyway, here's my list of favorite shows.

The Biggest Loser. If you watch this show, you'll know what I'm talking about with what I have to say. JOELLE, GET THE EFF OFF THIS SHOW. Okay anyway, if you don't watch this show, you should. The Biggest Loser is so inspiring with the amount of weight these people lose per week (yes, they do workout 6 - 7 hours a day, but still). Plus, I love Bob and Jillian (the contestant's super toned trainers).

Here's Joelle at her best.

Paula's Party. Paula Dean has a fairly new show which is always fun and everything she makes is delicious looking (Hello!?! She always uses a stick of butter..). I love watching her flirt with the younger men in the audience and she's sometimes shockingly in appropriate which is hilarious. She's the southern grandma/aunt I never had.

Platinum Weddings. I discovered this show awhile ago, and no, I'm not planning a wedding anytime soon, but it's so fun to see these people with massive amounts of disposable income plan these luxurious weddings. It's like My Super Sweet 16 on steroids, and with weddings rather than birthdays. This may be the only place you can see a Cinderella wedding cake valued at $4,000. Oh, and another difference between My Super Sweet 16 and Platinum Weddings is how the (in the Platinum Weddings episodes that I've seen atleast,) couples aren't super annoyingly spoiled and bratty like the kids from My Super Sweet 16

The Today Show. Okay I know this sounds lame, but my ideal morning would consist of waking up, making my hazelnut coffee, sitting down on the couch with my computer and cereal and watching The Today Show. I love seeing what Meredith and Ann are wearing, I love Matt Lauer no matter what he's wearing or saying and Al's just goofy.

Matt Lauer interviewing Christian Bale. Bad quality, but I heart CB.

So I know this doesn't highlight how much I love the cast of the Today Show, but I love Feist, so this is kind of a twofer :)

Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth on the Today Show. I love Wicked, couldn't help myself.

Ellen. I LOVE Ellen. Simply put. Her show is nothing but funny, I don't think I've ever been anything but happier than after I watch her show.

I think this is my favorite clip out of all of the ones listed. Paris Hilton and Ellen.

So this was quite recent. George Clooney had never been on Ellen's show, and on many episodes of hers, she was seen bribing him somehow so he'd come on her show. This is George Clooney FINALLY getting on her show, but first she conned him into coming on with two of his favorite baseball players.

Ace of Cakes. They make awesome cakes, and they're all usually for cool causes. The host is hilarious, and all of the people that work there have a funny sense of humor and are very talented. They can make anything that you ask them to.

Chuck. It's a fairly new show. It's basically about an average nerd who has been recruited into the secret service because he has the world's greatest spy secrets embedded into his brain. Hilarious, witty and adorable.

Unwrapped. I love this show, I'm not fond of Marc Summers, but to see how so many different foods are made is really cool and interesting to me. Every factory is different and I love how each company has their secrets of how they make their food.

I'm sure I have more favorites, but these are all I can think of right now :)
