Freck's Friday Fancies :: Travel Edition!

Well, I'm off San Fran tomorrow for the weekend! Having said that, I can't help but turn this week's Fancies into a travel edition :)

Overall, I'm all about layers, comfort and splurging. As long as you pack smart and are prepared, it should be a comfortable commute (fingers crossed).

Here are this week's Fancies :: My carry-on must-haves...

LongChamp - I'll be toting this trusty puppy, it fits so much in it and is super durable.

Leggings/jeggings - You want to be comfortable on the plane. These are stretchy enough for any position and you can easily slip boot that you'd rather not pack over these.

Boots - If you want to bring them on the trip, wear the boots on the plane.

Comfy flats - Take those boots off, get those Uggs slippers out of your tote and settle in for a comfy flight.

Head phones - I know, obviously! Movie/music time.

Snacks - And get the delish stuff with chocolate and nuts. After all, you're vacationing aren't you?! Find this recipe here.

Dry shampoo - You'll likely need this after the flight. At least I know I normally do.

A bottle of water - Pick it up as soon as you pass security. Stay hydrated, you will need it.

Lotion - Under 3.2 oz of course! Try to get some face lotion as well, you'll likely need this for your face and hands.

Chick Mags - This is what TBF likes to refer to as my ideal reading material on the flight. I prefer InStyle because and meaty and USWeekly hello? It's the best celeb gossip mag.

Pashmina - My number one travel must have. This doubles as a stylish scarf, blanket or pillow when you get chilly on the plane.

And that's that! Did I miss anything?!

I'm so thrilled to jet off tomorrow morning. Again, please let me know if you've been to San Fran and/or if we should hit specific spots!

Have an amazing weekend :)

Would You?

..sport shoe clips?

How adorable are they?!

I'm a big fan of the classic pump so I have a couple pairs, so sprucing them up every once in awhile with some shoe clip
s sounds much cheaper than buying a brand new pair that are always spruced up, yes?

Don't Get Any Ideas!

So I was checking out Wedzu, which I would describe as an Etsy-like, wedding-focused site - don't get any ideas - and I stumbled across this wedding genealogy chart.

Although pricey, how cool is this!?

The store, Melangerie, describes this chart as, "...great for a cocktail hour or reception, these charts fill guests in on who’s a friend from childhood, a neighbor, a family member, and more. Couples can customize the chart best suited to the style and environment of their wedding, and keep the diagram afterwards as a unique piece of memorabilia."

Isn't it awesome?! Everyone gets a color and you automatically know who's who! I tell ya, they think of the darndest things!

Happy Tuesday :)

Love Will Save The Day.

Found via Coco + Kelley, I bought this poster this weekend.

And I'm so excited about putting it here.

Le sigh.

Happy Monday :)

A Week From Right Now...

TBF and I will be on a plane to San Francisco to cheer on his little sister who's running the marathon! While we're there, we plan on visiting...

here!

To enjoy some of these...

This cupcake was recently acclaimed the best cupcake in America by the Food Network! You know I'm going to try it.

and maybe I'll bring home some peanut butter goodies to some lucky people.

This all came about because my good friend Tommy gave me a heads up about it. Now we're so excited to go! Thanks Tommy!!

And of course, as some of you are aware, TBF is half Chinese (yep, a handsome hybrid he is) and he introduced me to the awesomeness that is Dim Sum. So! We'll also be hitting up the streets of Chinatown for some authentic dim sum! Yum!

But wait, help! Are there any other places we should add to the list?
Shopping? Food? Jewelry? Hooray!

Happy weekend and let the countdown begin :)

Freck's Friday Fancies LXII

The fall essential. Sweaters.

Not just any kind of sweaters, zesty sweaters. Yep, zesty sweaters.

Not boring ones. Hey, don't get me wrong, I love the classics. My entire closet is full of classics, but lately I've been wearing (and jones'n) for the the zestier ones.

Meet this week's fancies...

I still love this one.

Soft zest.

Cable zest.

Obsessed with this zest. Apparently Rachel Zoe is, too.

Hidden zest.

Cotton zest.

Cozy zest.

Puffy zest.

You feelin' the zest?

PS do you remember dusters? Those really long sweaters that almost reached the floor? I want to say this trend was circa Fall 2001. I totally rocked a gray one and a black one.

Anywho, these zesty sweaters are perfect for layering over a tank and jeggings with boots. Jes?

Happy Friday!

Drool.

How yummy do these look?

Found via Design*Sponge, the pumpkin and gingerbread ice cream sandwich recipe can be found here.

Drool on.

Oh, Hello Professor.

I found out about Sketchbook bags via The Scoop and I haven't stopped thinking about The Professor bag since!

The Professor

It unfolds and lays flat! Look at all those pockets!

Check out their deets

Happy Monday :)

They Make What?

Being the wonderful girlfriend that I am, I ventured to the online land of NFL Redskins football gear to purchase some sort of paraphernalia so I no longer look out of place when we go to the Redskins bar here in Chicago. Have you done this? Have you ventured onto these sports gear sites? Can we talk about some of the ridiculous, yet hilarious items you can find and purchase for what I would hope to be only placed in a man's bachelor pad or man cave?

Let me give you a taste.
and no, these aren't my fancies..

Oh good! You have a tape measurer!

Hangers?! Perfect!

Drapes?! Hooray!

A Redskins purse?! It's what I've always wanted!

Alright, really? A hammer...??

...And my favorite...Will this lawn figurine fit in the mancave?

Please note, no offense to anyone who has similar items displayed loud and proud in their home. They just create the darndest things to make money off of!

Have a great weekend :)
