Weekend Recap + Ra Ra Oh La Laaa!

This holiday weekend was wonderful. It was full of good times with the fam, old friends and new memories. I had too much stuffing and it was delish. Now it's back to work and I'm struggling to keep my eyes open!

Onto some fun...

I missed Ellen last Friday because of the lovely football games that were on the tube, but there was a rerun at 2 am (that TBF found) so he tivo'd it. I'm so glad he did! Ms. Gaga was on and not only were her performances fantastic, but
her interview was too. For those of you who haven't seen this quote, she says:

"I didn't fit in in high school and I felt like a freak..."So I like to create this atmosphere for my fans where they feel like they have a freak in me to hang out with and they don't feel alone."
Cool, right?

Anyway, here is her performing Bad Romance on Ellen.

Make sure to check out tomorrow's post!! You won't want to miss it :)

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Happy Thanksgiving my beautiful Freckles!

Today I'm thankful for my wonderful family, friends, TBF, our health, our jobs and last but not least,

all of you.

I started It's Five O'Clock Somewhere last December on a whim with some encouragement and the nickname of Freck (both from TBF), and in the past year I've had the pleasure to get to know all of you through comments, posts and emails. The blog world is something I underestimated and didn't understand a year ago, and now I can't picture what my life would be like without it right now.

As most of you know, a blog is so much more than getting your thoughts out, it's connecting with other people across the world about similar interests and creating bonds, something I learned after about a week or so of starting I5OS.

I've experienced some pretty big changes in the past year, and I've always had my beautiful freckles to turn to for support. Although I keep my identity anonymous, you all continue to return and check out my crazy, random and unorganized posts. It's incredible.

So thank you. Words cannot express how grateful I am for all of you.

Have a happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Gobble Gobble!!

It's here! The day before Thanksgiving! We get to eat turkey (or tofurkey for our vegetarians) with our loved ones tomorrow, I'm so excited.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I've been browsing some decor and accessories on the fancy world wide web and here are some of the lovely items that I found:

I wonder if anyone would try to eat this crocheted pumpkin pie? Etsy, $10

Bobby pins, so cute! Etsy, only $5!!

DWTS is officially over. Donny took the title and Kelly placed third. Sigh.

Tonight I will (hopefully) get a work out in, pack, make a Lady Gaga mix some mixed cds for the road and complete the only task that mama Freck gave me for Thanksgiving. What's that task you ask? Why! Get the wine for our meal of course! Any suggestions?

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving everyone!

Green with Etsy

Ignore the top text if you're wanting to see the fantastic Green Etsy finds!! :)

One day down. Two days to go until Thanksgiving break! I'm torn between leaving on Wednesday night or Thursday morning. I'd love to just get there on Wednesday night but it's deer hunting season in central Illinois and I really don't want to risk getting in an accident with a deer. For those of you who aren't familiar with how stupid deer are, they're extremely stupid, they run TO the headlights of cars. Awesome, huh?

Who saw DWTS last night?! They all did so well :) Of course I'm still rooting for Kelly, although she likely won't win. She's come so far! I wasn't impressed with Mya's last dance.
For those of you who aren't fans of DWTS, you're in luck, tonight is the finale which means I'll stop talking about it for awhile! Hooray!

Did anyone see Lady Gaga on Jay Leno last night? She was fabulous, check her out!

Yikes...her business almost fell out..anyone else catch that at the end?

Alright, onto the
Green with Etsy finds...

How cute is this?! $20, Etsy

Different, yes? $16, Etsy

$21, Etsy

I am about to burst with excitement over next Tuesday's post. I think you're all going to love it!! ;)

Weekend Recap + AMAs

Wow, I am exhausted today. What a great weekend though!

Friday I went out with girlfriends to celebrate some birthdays and had a blast! Nothing is better than catching up with them.

I had absolutely no plans on Saturday and Sunday, something TBF and I haven't experienced in a long time. So what did we do? We worked out a lot, fixed delicious meals, read magazines, ran "fun" errands and watched tv. Amazing.

All the lounging has turned me into a vegetable today because I cannot seem to wake up! Thank goodness this week is only 3 days, and then it's off to Mama and Papa Freck's for some wonderful family time and Thanksgiving deliciousness :)

Did anyone watch the AMA's last night?? How awesome was Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Whitney Houston and Carrie Underwood?! Am I missing anyone? I really enjoyed the show. How do we feel about Taylor Swift sweeping up a lot of the awards??

Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend!

Freck's Friday Fancies XXV

Ahhh, another Friday is here. The Friday before Thanksgiving! I promise this post will be easier to follow than yesterday's:)

This week, I've been fancying Martin and Osa, a brand some of you know I adore. For those of you who haven't heard of M+O, they're the more sophisticated brand of the American Eagle company.

...and no my fancying doesn't have to do with how their outerwear is up to 50% off this week!

Onto the fancies! I'm going to need some skinny/slim jeans that I can tuck in to my new boots (that I'm sure you are all sick of hearing about), I think these jeans will do the trick...

$59.50

This cardi might be a nice item to sport on Christmas morning ;)

$99

This looks like it'd be nice and comfy over leggings

$99.50 I keep eyeing this little guy...

$79.50

Now $110

I know I know, kind of plain Jane, but I need a brown belt... $29.75

I've become a big fan of shawls because they're bigger than a normal scarf and can double as a blanket when you're traveling!

$49.50

TBF TAKE NOTE! I really want some yellow, leather gloves (they don't have to be these though!) :)

$59.50

TGIF! Have a great weekend everyone!

Up! + Skin Frustration + Christmas Morning Fashion

Warning: this post is so random and all over the place. Too much coffee, yes?

Last night TBF and I grabbed some Mexican food and margs and then watched UP. It was really good but at times so heart breaking! Has anyone else seen it? What are your thoughts about it?

Flash Forward is on tonight people! I’m excited for another episode of blackouts and adventure, it’s going to be a crazy night in the Freck apartment.

I’ve been really good about getting long work outs in. It really helps having TBF there (and he gets to the gym later than I do after work), I stay on the treadmill so much longer and even get some weight lifting in.
Because the gym I go to has TV’s on all of the treadmills, I usually watch TMZ from 5:30ish-6, E! News with ol’ Ryan Seacrest and Guiliana Ranscic (sp?!) until 6:30ish and then sometimes I catch a little bit of the Daily 10 (with I have no clue who, some guy with dreads and another teeny tiny brunette in a dress).Watching TV really makes the time go by faster!

HOWEVER, my skin is seriously struggling with this weather change, working out and having my pores be open and going out in the cold. It's either dry or breaking out...I can't find a balance!

Here's an extremely random question. On Christmas morning or whatever your day of gift giving is, do you get up and get dolled up before opening gifts/having brunch/whatever tradition you have? I don’t think I ever have, ever. I’m almost positive I’m always still in pj’s or I throw on some jeans, a hoodie, put some powder in my hair and start chillin’ with the fam.

This is an example from LandsEnd…

Know what I’m sayin’? Ideally I’d love to look like this, but it really never happens. I may strive to this year…

Also..tehe...

probably NSFW below...

I had to share this because it appeared when I Bing’ed (Bung?) Christmas morning fashion!

But really, does anyone put themselves together to the T unless they go to church that morning??

Side note – can we talk about how beautiful Heidi looks here?!

Go Ann Taylor!

Alright, back to work. It’s almost Friday!

For those of you who made it to the bottom without major frustration with how all over the place this post is, I congratulate you :)

TV Happies + Snuggle Time!

Kelly O made it to the top three of DWTS!! Hoorayyy! So excited to see how she does during the finale next week.

ALSO, for my Biggest Loser watchers, did you see Rebecca on Leno last night?? She looks amazing!! Did you hear her say that she's dating...

Daniel!!! How awesome and adorable is that?!!

Okay, anyway, my blog is starting to turn into a tv obsessed blog (hello Castle, DWTS, Biggest Loser...) so let's throw some fashion back in here.

It's another disgusting, rainy and CHILLY day in the city, so I really just want to snuggle on up with this...

Anthro, $38

and this...

Anthro, $168
and this...

and this...

and I'll look a little something like this...

Happy Hump day!!

Weekend Recap

I spent the weekend in DC with TBF, his fam and friends and had a blast. Yesterday was spent recovering back home in the Chi. I’m busier than ever at work today so today’s post will be short and sweet.

It’s FREEZING today compared to what the weather was like when I left Chicago on Friday! Now it’s really starting to feel like the holidays. Turkey day is right around the corner, yikes!

Okay, not quite this cold, but it feels like it!!!

Thank you to those of you who gave your dry shampoo advice! I’m looking forward to trying them out, I just hate how pricey they all are.

Did anyone watch Dancing With The Stars last night? Man oh man, every time Kelly O danced, tears starting welling up. Ridiculous. I just love her and I really hope she makes it to the final two.

Does anyone watch Castle? It’s on right after DWTS and I always find myself getting sucked in and loving it every time.

Okay, back to work!
Happy Tuesday!
