Wen??

I refuse to buy cable (or internet) at home, so I have about 20 basic channels including some awesome infomercials. One infomercial I keep seeing is the Wen one, you know which one I’m talking about ladies.

The 2 in 1 shampoo that makes your hair uber celebrity fancy in a matter of days…

OKAY, I want shiny, blonde hair, too!!

I’m not ashamed to say I’ve almost picked up the phone and ordered it, but something always stopped me. Is it the fact that the salesman has prettier hair than I do?

Ok, so his hair is prettier in the commercial.

Is it the fact that this product reminds me of the days that I’d slather on John Frieda and my hair would be weighed down (but still soft, mind you)?


…is it the fact that it’s a fuggin infomercial and the only time I’ve ever ordered anything from an infomercial is when I was 6 and ordered the chipmunks album over the phone with my parents credit card (true story)?

Does she use Wen?

So, has anyone tried it? I still can’t get it out of my mind. What if I’m missing out on this incredibly amazing beauty product? Freck wants some umph in her hair and WEN may be IT.

Movies!

I’ve seen some pretty darn good movies lately that I think you should see, too.


The first one is I Love You, Man with Jason Segel and Paul Rudd. Has anyone else jumped on the I want to be Mrs. Rudd bandwagon? I think I may be the driver. Love him. This movie is hilarious, go see it, now.



Gigantic is another movie you should go see. Remember the silent kid from Little Miss Sunshine? He’s grown up a bit and co-stars with ZOEY DESCHANEL. She’s wonderful again, but yet again she plays the same quirky character. Love her, but I wish she’d mix it up a bit! Anyway, this movie is basically quirky and interesting and leaves you wondering what the message is at the end, but I think they do that on purpose so you go look it up after...


This is kind of a random one, Push. When Dakota Fanning is introduced at the beginning of the movie, I wanted to immediately turn the movie off because A. she looks like a crazy with her combat boots and multi-colored hair, and B. she was always annoying in her other movies. HOWEVER, she was surprisingly awesome and I was impressed with her acting. The rest of the movie is kind of difficult to explain, so you should just watch it. Ha. : )

Weekend Recap + Workout Fancies

This weekend was perfect!! TBF and I headed south on Friday after work to go visit Mama and Papa Freck and the fam. We did some serious boating and relaxing all weekend and I made a lovely new friend that my sister in law brought along. It was a full boat and we did some swimming, read some mags, enjoyed some beverages, ate some delicious food all while FINALLY wearing my new VS suit. Heaven. I noticed I was more comfortable just lounging in my suit and towel than I used to be, joining the gym was one of the best ideas ever.

Speaking of the gym, TBF will be doing a trial run for the next couple of weeks which is very exciting. I’m pretty sure he’s going to love it. I decided I should treat myself to some fun, cute and functional workout clothes since I’ve been so good…thoughts?

Weekend Recap + PUPPIES!!!!!!

So this last weekend was slow, hot, relaxing and did I mention hot? Holy bajeezus. It was so friggen hot out this last weekend in Chicago that I went to Target and bought a fan for the apartment on Saturday! Oh, I must also mention that I bought Girls Just Want to Have Fun with SJP, which is still as awesome as it was when I was little.


Maria Bamford rocked on Friday night, she was hilarious as usual. Saturday night TBF and I went to my cousins deck party (which is awesome) in Wicker Park where we got to hang out, chat and enjoy some Coronas. Ahhh, a perfect summer night. TBF did a little acting for a shoe commercial outside on Sunday and he had long sleeves and boots on (a Fall shoe line), so he became super dehydrated! Scary! I totally nursed him back to health though in no time.

Yesterday was a super busy day at work, the usual Monday. I’m super excited about tonight because I’m going to dinner with some of my girlfriends who I haven’t seen in a couple weeks since our schedules are becoming so busy! We’re now in the “real world” and have to work hard at seeing each other now! Tougher than I thought it’d be…I must say it’s really nice being able to pay for a nice meal out since we have salaries now..


Anyway, I don’t know why - okay yes maybe I do – but lately I’ve been wanting something very similar to this little guy soooooooooo much!


HOW CUTE IS HE?! Now, if I could only find one that stays this teeny and never grows older, that would be perfect. Why don’t I just get a small dog that is supposed to stay small forever?

I’ll tell you why, because they won’t have massive paws that are too big for their body that make them move around awkwardly. That’s why, oh and they’re friggen adoorrabblleee!!!

I also just decided that I’m going to start every single work day with looking at pictures of teeny puppies because they make me smile.

Weekend Recap

So this weekend FLEW by! The wedding was an absolute blast, but unfortunately downtown Columbus, Ohio itself is totally not. I apologize if anyone is from Columbus, I don’t mean to offend you, I’m just saying..it was prêt-ty boring…(especially on Sundays when absolutely nothing was open).

Also, we stayed at a hotel that was across the street from the capital building where an extremist Tea Party just happened to be occurring. Now, I’m more on the conservative side and I was a bit offended by some of the images they were showing of dead fetuses that were intended to support pro life (yes, I'm pro life as well) and I was a little scared walking past this Tea Party with TBF. As some of you know, TBF is half Chinese, therefore we were getting a lot of strange looks (blonde, white girl walking around with a Chinese, 6 foot male), and even some points and glares, most likely toward the Chinese male who was walking past a predominantly white rally. Needless to say I was a little nervous for our safety so we hurried in and out of Subway (after TBF was told about how our country needs nuclear power by a random woman and after I was asked by an interesting gal for $5 because she was "going into labor"…liar). Lots of different emotions were evoked during that half hour walk to and from Subway past the Tea Party, including, but not limited to, curiosity, humor, fear, confusion, sadness and anxiety. Yikes.

I must note, I know this doesn’t make up the entire community of downtown Columbus, we just happened to be visiting on a particular weekend that didn’t agree with us.

Sooooo yeah, I won't be going back to Columbus, Ohio for awhile..

Anyway, because this weekend was full of traveling and not a lot of relaxing, I have a feeling I’m going to be laying pretty low this week.

The most exciting thing I may do all week is buy a microwave from Best Buy with a gift certificate that is 3 years old, not even kidding (Thanks dad!). TBF found it during my move..score.

So to make this post a bit more light-hearted, here are some saweeeet microwaves!
