Weekend Recap + Lady Gaga Concert *With Pictures!*

Well, this weekend was fabulous.

Gaga was absolutely amazing. I still can't believe I saw her live. A couple notes before all the pics begin :)

When we got there, we noticed that the crowd was FAR more diverse than I imagined...TBF and my seats were in the balcony, we mentioned to each other how suburban and regular everyone seemed to be up in the balcony. There were older people and younger KIDS (boys and girls) in the balcony.

See?

Except for this woman..? Her husband and his bulging muscles didn't seem to mind that his wife was half nekkid.

Then we walked downstairs to use the ATM and we encountered what seemed to be the Real Housewives of Chicago type of women. Know what I mean? As if going to the concert was pocket change and just a fun dance party rather than AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE THAT WAS ACTUALLY EXPENSIVE! No I'm not annoyed by it.

So we were actually really happy we were in the balcony instead. Anyway, I think I expected a lot of gays in drag and women my age.

Who I enjoyed seeing:

This older couple sat next to TBF. First of all, love that they're there. Second, love her sparkly cardi. Third, love that she was there because she'd seen Gaga on Ellen. "I really like how she can sing well and play the piano, too!"

Presh.

Love this. He took so many pictures with people.

You could take a picture in her orb!

Jason Derulo - mmm Whatcha Sayyyyy! He was pretty good.

Everyone below us boogying in the aisle to MJ before Gaga.

Onto Gaga!!

What sparkly cardi woman wanted to see...

This was right after she grabbed his junk...

Her set was amazing. I can understand why it wouldn't have fit in the original venue.

Isn't she tiny? She's SO tiny. At one point she was only wearing what looked like a leather red bikini..this is also the part where TBF started to pay more attention...see?

You can read a full review of her Chicago performance here.

It's official, TBF and I left as one of Lady Gaga's little monsters.

Happy Monday!

Because I'm going to her concert tonight...

It would only be appropriate if I dedicated this entire post to her.

Yes.

Lady Gaga.

**I'm sorry about all the silly commercials at the beginning of the videos**

Also, yes, I realize this post is nuts, but she's nuts and I enjoy it, so hopefully you will, too :)

Yes, to answer your question. I will be waving my freak flag tonight.

Freck's Friday Fancies XXXI

It's Friday! We did it! Our first week back to work after the holidays.

As Buddy the Elf would say, "You did it! Congratulations, world's best cup of coffee! Wow!"

So long
holidays.

Let's talk bracelets ladies. I think it's the one accessory I'm really lacking right now. Good thing I did some browsing and
luckily brought our imaginary bottomless budgets, so you can tell me your faves...

the cuff, Lanvin, $977.76

the classic Tiffany's bracelet, $225

the statement bracelet, Banana, $25

the bangle, Ms. Spade, $125

the bejeweled bracelet, love the name of this one, Ippolita "Paparazzi", $695

the charm/statement bracelet, Bubbalicious, $34.50

oh david, you shouldn't have! $2,200 smackers.

or perhaps your just a watch girl? Gucci, $sick

the chain, Diane Von Furstenburg, $ihopeiwinthelotterysoon

last but not least, I must show my love for etsy, the most reasonably priced item, the delicate bracelet, $55

Btw, remember my post about wanting to steal a baby tiger? Well, I want to steal the baby cheetah on Cartier's website. Check it out...he comes out every now and then even when you're looking at jewelry! So cute!

TGIF!!

Lady Gaga = tomorrow. I still can't believe it. Thanks again TBF :)

Smorgasbord Thursday

So of course when I have my special boot outfit (boots + black sweater dress + black tights) all good to go last night, I couldn't wear it today because I woke up this morning to over a half foot of snow on the ground.

I wouldn't dare trudge through the wicked snow with those boots on
.

Oh Chicago, you amaze me.

Sigh..the outfit will have to wait until next week. Thanks so much for the advice, it really helped!!!

A kid across the row from me yesterday received a massive arrangement of fruit flowers. Fruit flowers rule. Delicious and nutritious.

I’m ready for a vacation.

Advice question numero dos of the week – where should I go that won’t break the bank for TBF and I? An all-inclusive vaca sounds incredible but I don’t really know where to look besides the basic sites (orbitz, southwest, etc.)

I could always win $25k like my old high school show choir teacher did. Isn’t he a hoot?

Anyone else ready for
Spring so they can break out the new trends? Yes please!

T minus 2 days until Gaga and tomorrow is Friday.

First week back from holiday vaca = almost complete.

I have a confession.

...

I've only worn my J. Crew boots that I was DYING for and annoying you about only a handful of times.

I don't mean to do it purposely, heavens no. They're beautiful and I'm pretty sure I'd chop off my pinky if someone were to try to take them from me.

Ok not really, I'm sorry that was so graphic. I just really love them.

I have a 9-5 at a fairly business casual/professional company where I can't wear these boots with jeans all the time. I mean think about it, you can only wear these boots with only so many outfits. I have a mostly black professional and business casual wardrobe, how do beautiful brown boots fit in to that?

Any suggestions?

I think an addition of a nice tan or brown cardi with a jewel tone dress ..say this one..

would do the trick.. yes?

Any other suggestions??

What the heck do I wear them with for a professional look!?

**update, brown or tan basic cardigans are so difficult to find**

*+.Bling Rings.+*

Wow.
Ivanka knows how to make 'em.
Ivanka this ring.

I saw this article on A Cup of Jo's relationship blog on Glamour and WOW. These are super sparkly rings!!

Do you know anyone who has a stone that's not a diamond as their engagement ring? I've heard of people using their claddagh rings as their wedding and engagement rings and I've seen one amethyst color stone in a engagement ring, but never a green one like this...

Although these are far from anything I'd like one day, I still thought they were sparkly and worth noting :)

And for those who are kind of anti-bling..here are some fun Etsy rings..

Nestlegold nestring, $40

Vegan flower, $5

and if you're looking for a visual snickity snack, $17.25

This is kind of awesome.

..and no, this is not a shoutout to TBF. Promise.

Happy Tuesday!

Weekend Recap + January Wallpaper

Hello 2010! It's back to work for me and I'm super busy but thankfully it's making my work day FLY!

Speaking of work, I've already refreshed my background work PC with one of these awesome smashing magazine wallpapers. Aren't they fun?

This weekend was so relaxing, the start of 2010 was a fantastic one. I ran lots of errands and probably spent too much money on eating out and random items (new shoes, cough cough), but I think that's okay :)

I also got to see my brother and sister in law last night because they were (unfortunately) stuck in Chicago when their babymoon flight to Hawaii was canceled. I'm pretty sure they're well on their way today and I'm so jealous. It's SO cold here today!

Last but not least, guess who got Lady Gaga tickets for this Saturday??

This girl! So excited :)

Have a great Monday everyone!!

Things Men Don't Know About Women

I had to share this.

Hilarious.

Some notable quotes...

"If we run into your ex-girlfriend in public, the first thing you should do is put your arm around us. And if we have to introduce ourselves, you are in big trouble." - Jenna Fisher

"Everything sounds better when your mouth is next to our ear and you whisper it. Everything from 'Sorry about the smell' to 'I'm going to love you forever, m'lady." - Cheryl Hines

"When considering whether or not to ask out the girl you're afraid to talk to, keep this in mind: No matter who you are or what you look like, it's always flattering when you hit on us. Always." - Poppy Montgomery

"Men who wear sunglasses at night don't look cool, rich, or sexy. They look as if they should be holding a cane or following a dog." - Sanaa Lathan

and my favorite..

"We want dessert. We want you to order dessert. What we don't want is for you to ask us if we want dessert." - Connie Britton

That's all :)  enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Freck's Friday Fancies XXX :: First of 2010

I know, I know. FFF is late this week, woops!

TBF is fixing me a lovely salmon dinner, so I thought I'd sneak in my FFF!

Before I begin, I want to quickly thank you for your sweet comments about my blogiversary yesterday :) It's been a great ride and I'm looking forward to 2010.

So TBF and I had a lovely new years day together. We enjoyed a delicious home made brunch complete with mimosas, refrained from going to a jewelry store (ha!), had some success at Target and DSW (Sperry boots for him and black flats for me) and popped in to J. Crew. They have some adorable pieces in their spring line (as usual) and some awesome winter (and spring?) pieces on sale right now!

Why must they put winter items on sale when it's not even spring yet?! I don't get it, but I think I'll take advantage of it.

Anyway, I showed some awesome restraint, but I can't help but share some of the sale pieces (that are still in season!!!)...

I've posted about this one before, it's just too adorable not to mention agai. $119.99

Just.Cute. $179.99

This purple is amazing. $69.90
I think I have too many purple pieces..

I almost bought this, $49.99
I think I should go back and buy it. Especially cute under a cardi, yes?

Could wear this well into spring, yes? $99.99

Cable knit sweater, $49.99

How cute are these mittens?! $19.99

Alright I need to knock it off, I almost got up to get my wallet. Must. Stop.

I'm hoping that for Monday's post, I'll have my Favorites of 2009. Thanks to Jenn from Jeans Friday for giving me the idea since I did the Favorites of 2008 a year ago :)

Alright, time for dinner complete with some Bon Iver tunes. How awesome is it that it's only Friday?? Can I get a hallelujah??

Have a wonderful weekend and happy new year!
