Freck's Friday Fancies XXXVIII

Holy cow it was difficult to get up this morning! When I got up at 6:45 this morning, my body was still on San Diego time so it felt like 4:45 am. I can’t complain though, I had an amazing time.

We ended up going to the USS Midway on Wednesday afternoon which is a museum on an air craft carrier. It was so awesome, pictures to come. Hats off to all in the navy, not only are they hard workers, but the space within the ship is so small. I felt so claustrophobic, which is a feeling I rarely experience.

Anyway, I was welcomed back home by my bonus (woohoo!) and of course now I'm thinking about what I want to treat myself with. I think I'd like a trench coat; it’s a staple item and I want one for Spring!

Hello!

Let me first say that San Diego has been amazing. I don't know how anyone gets any work done around here! It's always gorgeous outside so I want to be out and about all the time!

I'm so glad TBF and I arrived on Saturday so we could enjoy two free days before my conference started on Monday.

I'll go into more detail when I have more time, but I'll leave you with these pictures for now...

- enjoyed an amazing dinner and view at La Jolla
- spent wayyyy too much on cabs (eek)
- visited the Padres stadium

I don't think I'm forgetting anything...hmm...

Remember how I needed a vacation?!

Well guess what? I'm getting one!! Sort of.

Because someone on my team isn't able to go to a conference this weekend, and because the conference pass isn't refundable, I'm going to SAN DIEGO!



For 5 days.

And TBF gets to come, too!!!

So, needless to say my posts will be few and far between from tomorrow to next Thursday. I've never been to San Diego and I literally had to hold back tears of joy when I was told I could go because I need a getaway so very badly.

I've been working really hard lately and I'm having some winter blues so this couldn't have come at a better time. The fact that TBF gets to come, too is amazing.

I felt kind of like Lindsey Vonn when she won her gold medal yesterday, know what I'm sayin'?

Just exhausted and so grateful.

Ok, she miiiiiiiight have worked a little harder ;)

So yes, it is a work trip, but I won't complain. We have a couple extra days to ourselves and the conference will be pretty interesting.

We're staying here.

Do you see what I mean? Tears. of. joy.

I managed to squeeze in an extra day for us and I'm really hoping (and thinking) it will rejuvenate the both of us.

My "new" desk + Why not? Some extra pics, too :)

First of all - it seems that the opinions on the florals are pretty half and half. Some hate it, some love it. I'm in the middle, if you can rock it, go for it, if you're me, I think I'll sit back and watch others rock it :)

Onto my "new" desk!

Remember when I wanted a desk badly and I was looking high and low for an inexpensive one? Well, I was cleaning out my closet and in the heat of the moment I started switching around my furniture. You know what I mean - when you just get in the cleaning mode.

Keep in mind that I have a studio so it's easy for me to switch things around and create a different look.

Anyway, and what did I find? I realized that if I switched my entryway table up a bit, it could be a mini desk!

See?

I'm loving it so far, we'll see how long it lasts. It was super cheap, so I think I'll keep it like this for awhile *wink wink*

While going through my recently added pictures, I thought: Why not? I'll post a couple from Valentine's Day, too :)

Remember sleeping beauty? He was woken up by Emo boy's screaming (er, I mean singing) in his bathroom (which is right under ours).

Also, we were beating some chicken last night (something that takes less than a minute and is kind of loud) to tenderize it on the counter and what was his response? BLASTING his music. Talk about passive aggressive. Buttface.
