Ladies, You're Fab, Keep it Up!

Alright, there are some female celebrities out there who I'm simply digging lately for different reasons.

Of course there's Madonna, Michelle Obama, Oprah, Jen Aniston, Audrey Hepburn and the list goes on but I wanted to keep it to those who aren't or maybe won't be on the list every darn year, ya know? Spice it up a little!

Also, part of the reason why I want to make this list is because I want to look back in a year and see who I picked and probably laugh.

Here are my picks for the most fabulous celebrity ladies of 2009:

Lady gaga. She waves something that she likes to call her Freak Flag. Love it.

Zooey Deschanel. Amazing eyes, down to earth, classic, simply adorable.

Reese Witherspoon. She has my ideal blonde haircut that looks perfect all the time. Plus she's a pretty classy lady, yes?

Nicole Richie. Ok ok I know, but I really dig her brunette hair. Again, ideal. Also, she's come a long way, people! Sister is no longer a trainwreck.

Sandra Bullock. another down to earth gal who's kick a$$. Anyone see her on Ellen? hilarious.

Rihanna. Bad ass. Awesome accent. The end.

Rachel McAdams. She's quirky, beautiful and I kind of love to hate her.

Kelly Osbourne. She had me at DWTS. Adorable.

Lauren Conrad . Ok, I know, some of you are thinking to yourself WTF freck, but I find her fascinating for some reason. She's had an interesting life that was perfectly set up for her to be dumb trainwreck (Speidi), but she's turned out well. Yes?

Mentionable ladies in 2009 who I'm NOT digging: Lilo, Britney (yeah, sorry), Kate Gosselin, Aubrey O'Day (gross).

Who are your fav celeb ladies of 2009?? Did I miss anyone??

Tomorrow's Friday! One more day!!

Cozy Items + Sing Off!

It's beginning to FEEL a lot like Christmas! The wind chill is below zero and it makes me want to run out and buy these warm items!

so cozy and fuzzy!! J. Crew, $GoOnSale

Ok I know this isn't warm, but how cute is the back of this dress?! Spring wedding attire maybe??

Ohhh so comfy looking!! J. Crew, $39

How pretty is this hat?! Anthro, $168

Also! Soo happy to hear you all are enjoying Sing Off, too! Wow did the competition get fierce last night or what?! Unfortunately I won't be able to see tonight's show because I will be dining with TBF and his coworkers at their Holiday party at this delicious restaurant, so you all will have to fill me in on the scoop!

Here's Nota singing the "down down down down" song I was talking about. It was so worth the wait, they did great!!

Happy Hump Day!

Sing Off

First of all, thank you all for your kind comments on my last post. Yesterday's post was kind of a downer, so I'll do my best to keep them all uppety! Tis the season people!!

Alright, who tuned in for Sing Off?? Thoughts?

I was a little disappointed. Not gonna lie.

I thought the beginning was going to be a bit more explosive and fun, they didn't do it for me. In case you missed the opening performance, here it is:

The main reason I tuned in was because I saw a group (Nota) in the commercial singing the lyrics "down, down, down, down." I was pumped for it!! I'm serious, every time I saw this commercial I'd start groovin' in my seat because of the way this guy sang the song...buuut they didn't sing it until the very end and they don't actually perform the entire song until tonight.

Instead, Nota performed I'm Yours by Jason Mraz, which was pretty good!

I'm rooting for them, can you tell? They sucked me in as soon as I saw them in the preview commercials.

Oh! Last but not least, did anyone notice how amazing Ben Folds' critiques were? He's incredible. This guy knows the definition of constructive criticism. Nicole from The Pussycat Dolls on the other hand is friggen clueless. Sister seemed like she was on something while she was critiquing people. Anyone else feel this way?

Who are you rooting for? Anyone tuning in tonight?

Happy Tuesday!

Weekend Recap + Scrooge

Hellloooo Monday!

My weekend was pretty decent. Friday night I had a work part-ay and the rest of the weekend was spent relaxing or being a scrooge (haha!). I'm having a bit more of a difficult time than I thought I would with transitioning into the real world and not having as much time as I'd like to spend with my family over Christmas. I guess I took for granted being able to spend at least a week with Mama and Papa Freck (and co.) over the holidays. This year I'll be lucky to spend two days with them, a thought that gets me a little down.

To battle these scrooge-like feelings, I've been telling myself:
-Hey Freck, the main reason you aren't able to spend as much time with the fam this year is because you have a great job. Some people don't have a job, be thankful.
-Hey Freck, be happy that you have a family to miss and come home to, some don't.
-Hey Freck, you're healthy and young, you have plenty more Christmas's to enjoy with the fam.

...and a couple more that I've probably missed.

Another way I'm battling these scrooge-like feelings is by watching old Christmas movies that I grew up with. One of my absolute favorites is White Christmas, and I thought I'd share some of my favorite scenes below just in case any of you are feeling scrooge like and/or if this is one of your favorite Christmas movies!!

Mama Freck's Favorite :)

I needed those red dresses when I was little.
Did you know that Vera-Ellen, had a 19 inch waist?! Wow!

Enjoy and happy Monday!!

Pup Apparel + Last Day of Giveaway!!!

I'm so proud of myself for getting a post in today. Why, you ask? I'm proud because I'm delirious and I didn't think I'd have the mental capacity to throw a sentence together. I have been up since 5 am. I passed out gifts to pre-K through 4th grade students on the south side of Chicago today and it was truly a wonderful experience that I'll never forget.

Onto some items that have me giggling in my cube. Can we talk about how hilarious these outfits are? They all can be found
here.

For her special day...

Conclusion: Animal outfits. Are hilarious.

Christmas Spirit + Biggest Loser

This Christmas tree was in the middle of the beautiful hotel where my conference was yesterday. I couldn't help but take a picture. Isn't it so pretty?!

Okay, onto the goods. Who saw the Biggest Loser Finale last night?!

Everybody now! "HOLY COW!!!!!"

Not gonna lie, Rudy, you're kind of a stud.

Danny looks amazing, too. I think what I enjoy most about the two guys and Amanda (in pink) is how humble they are. It was so encouraging and they were all so thankful for the opportunity and their transformation.

Did anyone else feel that Rebecca's attitude changed compared to before her transformation and wasn't very humble? She won the at-home BL, which is so awesome and she looks fantastic, but something about her attitude rubbed me the wrong way. Anyone??

Remember everyone, the giveaway ends tomorrow! Make sure to enter if you haven't!!

Alright, back to work. Happy Hump Day!!!

***

Okay, cool, by the looks of your comments, I'm not crazy when I think that Rebecca has changed and it's weird. TBF thinks she's on drugs..could be, she is kind of spazzy and random? Oh well, she looks fab, hopefully she tones the 'tude down a bit...

Also! According to this interview, they are still dating and she's moving in with him.

Holiday Craziness

Wow! I'm so very glad that I put a little mention in my post yesterday about my potential lack of posting this week. Yesterday afternoon I pitched in and I wrapped about 200 Snuggies for the office and sales people! Today I'm skipping on over to a hotel on Michigan Ave. for a conference then doing some shopping after that. This week is full of random activities!

I wanted to check in real fast because I don't want to forget to ask...did anyone see Castle last night?
Rider Strong was on! Yeah, you know who he is, Shawn Hunter from Boy Meets World :)

Okay, that's all, hope to get a post in tomorrow!

Happy Tuesday :)

Weekend Recap + HSN

Ahh, another Monday. I had a nice weekend, the anniversary din din went well on Friday and I had great time catching up with some girlfriends at a Christmas brunch on Saturday. The rest of my weekend was spent relaxing.

...relaxing/staring at the tv like a zombie...

Ok. HSN sucked me in, they've done it again. As some of you know, I only have basic channels. I
almost made a couple purchases this weekend. Tricky, convincing ladies...

Have you seen this woman? Joy Mangano? She's nuts, but freakin' convincing.

By the end of the day, I wanted to buy her huggable hangers, massive purse + rolling luggage (portable dresser) and steamer.

I've seen her talk like a crazy about this steamer before and man, it looks like it works! Does it? Either way these women are so convincing, I wonder what their job descriptions say...

I've never ordered anything from HSN. Have any of you?? Are these good deals?

Anyone else feeling rather sluggish lately?? I have a nasty head cold that I can't get rid of. I didn't work out yesterday because I kept imagining myself falling off the treadmill (at high speed) because I'm so tired and out of it.

This week my posting will be less frequent because I have some offsite meetings throughout downtown Chicago, sounds more fun than it actually is considering it's going to be cold, rainy and/or snowy on Wednesday!!

I promise I will still announce
the giveaway winner on Friday!!

Hope everyone had a great weekend :)
