The Perfect Saturday

This Saturday was the one of the most perfect Saturday's I've had in a long time.

Why? I relaxed in the morning with my coffee, cereal and read some bloggity blogs while Food Network was playing in the background
. I know, the concoction sounds a bit odd, but for those of you who do the same thing know how it's a perfect combination of bliss.

Around mid-morning, TBF and I went to the Farmers Market and picked up the most divine pretzel bread and fresh apples, then ran some errands around the neighborhood.

One stop was in Two-Sided, one of my favorite boutiques in the area where I always swoon over the adorable knick-knacks, fun baby gifts and the perfect Chicago-themed gifts that would be perfect in welcoming wedding-weekend grab bags. Just sayin'.

After some more errands, we got around to our Insanity session (only two more weeks left!) then the deep apartment cleaning began.

I'm talking serious cleaning.

Every piece of furniture was pushed into my kitchen and I went to town on all the floors, walls, crevices, everything. While I went nuts, TBF covered the bathroom and kitchen. It was gloriously clean.

Why was I so excited to clean? I'm so glad you asked! We wanted to rearrange the furniture.

To some, this may seem like a daunting and annoying task. To me, I LOVE rearranging, it's like moving into a brand new, fresh apartment.
Tomorrow I'll share the winning living area arrangement :)

After all the cleaning, we realized the only real food we had in the apartment was pretzel bread, apples and eggs, so we decided to take advantage of the situation and go out to eat, something we haven't done much of lately because of all the Insanity.

So, after a glass of homemade sangria, we decided on a local, new Greek restaurant where we always walk by and say, "we should really try that place sometime." That we did. It was glorious. Very romantic and quiet and we were both pleasantly surprised.

Next up? A movie! We got Kick-Ass and The September Issue, do you see the compromise there?

We ended up watching Kick-Ass and saving The September Issue for another day :)

And that my friends, is the perfect Saturday. Let's recap: Relaxing AM + Productive Afternoon + Dinner + Movie = Perfect Saturday.

Pssst, pictures of the new rearranged living area to come! I'm going to need your help with some new decor-related purchases :)

All images via here, here, here, here.

Happy Monday!

What a great day! I can't wait to see what you come up with. Also, I Redboxed The September Issue a few months ago, and it was really cool. Grace is my favorite. (You'll see.)

guess who else's boyfriend insisted on watching Kick Ass Saturday night?

We watched the September Issue a few months ago -- it's really good and very interesting. I agree with Tommy about Grace, too. Loved her.

Sounds like a wonderful wonderful day! Pretzel bread is amazing, and I can never find it anywhere in Michigan! Maybe I need to come to Chicago!

Can't wait to see photos of the newly arranged furniture.
