I have a confession.

...

I've only worn my J. Crew boots that I was DYING for and annoying you about only a handful of times.

I don't mean to do it purposely, heavens no. They're beautiful and I'm pretty sure I'd chop off my pinky if someone were to try to take them from me.

Ok not really, I'm sorry that was so graphic. I just really love them.

I have a 9-5 at a fairly business casual/professional company where I can't wear these boots with jeans all the time. I mean think about it, you can only wear these boots with only so many outfits. I have a mostly black professional and business casual wardrobe, how do beautiful brown boots fit in to that?

Any suggestions?

I think an addition of a nice tan or brown cardi with a jewel tone dress ..say this one..

would do the trick.. yes?

Any other suggestions??

What the heck do I wear them with for a professional look!?

**update, brown or tan basic cardigans are so difficult to find**

i wear brown boots with a black dress and black tights ALL the time. i used to be so anti-black and brown together, but i think it works as long as the brown is not a deep chocolatey brown. try on the boot with a black sweater dress and tights and see what you think.

I was going to write what the other two have already written! Black dress with tights and tan/brown boots seem to be the hot thing right now. It is in the south.

Black and light brown is absolutely beautiful together Don't be afraid to try it! Why not go with a cream cardigan with the dress?

I also work in a professional environment and you'd be amazed how much stuff I find to wear brown boots with -- they look fantastic with tweed (which is easy to find in a variety of things like dresses, etc.)

I am a guy, so it's a bit different, but I've never been a fan of brown and black together. I know the "new rules" and all, but still...

...I've also read and seen a bit of brown with gray. It's worth a shot.

I only wear my brown boots every so often too - but mainly because they are suede so I really only wear them in the fall.
